Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 November 2026
1. Agreement
By installing or using NetVow (“the Service”) you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. What NetVow is
NetVow is a menu bar app for macOS and Windows (phone apps are coming). It includes:
- Social media blocks, on demand or on a schedule.
- Sites blocked forever, plus an always-on list of adult sites maintained by us.
- A balance that can be spent to end a block early.
- A task list, a focus timer, alarms and stay-on-task nudges.
- A day planner and help guide with Lox, our mascot.
NetVow is a self-help tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat ADHD or any other condition.
3. Accounts
You can use NetVow without an account. If you create one (to sync devices, go Pro or top up your balance), you must be at least 13, give accurate details, and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
4. Plans and payments
NetVow is free forever. Pro is available for:
- $3 once, for 2 weeks. You add your card at checkout. It does not renew, and each account can use it once.
- $5 per month
- $36 per year
- $60 once, for lifetime access
Payments are processed by Polar, and by paying you also accept Polar’s terms. Monthly and yearly plans renew until cancelled; cancelling stops the next renewal. When the 2 weeks end, your account goes back to Free unless you pick a plan. Except where the law requires otherwise, Pro payments are non-refundable.
5. Your balance
- You top up your balance in US dollars, with $5, $10, $20 or $50 at a time.
- Your balance does not expire and has no cash value.
- Unspent top-ups can be refunded within 14 days. After that they are non-refundable.
- Ending a block early costs $1 from your balance. It is taken immediately, then a short wait starts (5 minutes; Pro can choose 5, 10 or 20) before the block lifts. Money spent this way cannot be refunded.
- Ending a block early resets your streak. Sites blocked forever can never be ended with your balance.
- Deleting your account forfeits your unspent balance; request a refund first if you are eligible.
6. Blocks are meant to hold
NetVow changes your computer’s hosts file to block sites. By installing it you agree that:
- It needs administrator permission once, during setup.
- A running block cannot be shortened or deleted, except by ending it early for $1.
- Today’s schedule can be extended but not shortened; reductions apply from the next day.
- A site blocked forever can only be removed with a request in the app, which opens after 3 days.
- The adult-site list cannot be turned off.
- NetVow watches the hosts file and restores its entries if they are changed.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Install NetVow on someone else’s device without their knowledge and consent.
- Attack, overload or try to break into the Service.
- Resell the Service or share an account with others.
8. No warranty, limited liability
NetVow is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don’t promise it will be error-free or block every site. We are not liable for sites that are blocked by mistake, for being unable to reach a site while a block runs, or for problems caused by your operating system or other software. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Ending things
You can stop using NetVow at any time. You can’t quit the app while a block is running. Uninstalling removes the blocks NetVow added to your hosts file. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and email signed-in users about material changes. Continuing to use NetVow after a change means you accept it.
